Jan is a postdoc at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag), where he works with Viktoria Cologna.
His research topics are trust in science and misinformation, with a recent focus on climate science. More broadly, he’s interested in how people evaluate information, and what drives people to develop and propagate explanations about the world, including science, but also conspiracy theories, religion, or political ideology.
Jan holds a PhD in cognitive sciences from the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, where he was supervised by Hugo Mercier.
