Prof. van der Linden and Dr Roozenbeek have been awarded the 2020 grand Frank Prize in Public Interest Communications from the University of Florida for their 2019 research paper on the fake news game. Jon Roozenbeek was in attendance to receive the award. The award is named after social change pioneer Frank Karel and recognizes outstanding contributions to the growing field of public interest communications.

Dr. van der Linden was also on the Frank panel in 2017 with James Druckman (Northwestern) and Lisa Fazio (Vanderbilt) for his research on fake news and the conspiracy-effect. Other speakers included Dan Ariely.
