Sushmeena is a Research Assistant at the Cambridge Social Decision-Making Lab. She is a part of an international research project where she is working on developing effective interventions to counter disinformation in the Global South. Prior to Cambridge, she completed her MA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at New York University, and her BA (summa cum laude with honours) in Psychology and Politics at Lake Forest College. Sushmeena’s MA dissertation looked at theorizing the psychological underpinnings of support for vigilantism in India by the victim’s identity type. As an aspiring doctoral student, she aims to conduct research related to developing intervention strategies to combat ideology-motivated intergroup conflict and assessing their long-term effectiveness.
